We are quite a few here at NVG that use Python as our main "get things done" language. Below follows a list of link to python related sites woth visiting if you're curious about this great programming language.

* The Python Homepage - A natural start for the curious
* The OLD Homepage of Amiga Python - Still a great site by the previous maintainer of Amiga Python port.
* The NEW Homepage of Amiga Python - A great site by the current maintainer of Amiga Python port.
* Documentation - Answers to life, universe and everything.
* Starship Python - And you thought perl dudes were cool?

Marvin.py
The current source of the IRC bot Marvin, which maintains #Python on IRCNet.
(Ugly and uncommented, will undergo major rebuilding ASAP. Will probably have connections to the WWW and Starship POO.)
SMultiplex.tar.gz
Classes for a non-forking socket multiplexer suitable for linebased interfaces.
Includes a demo on how to use it in a server listening to the net. (Major update 19970602T1715.)
demonize.py
A function which detaches the running program from the shell.
htmltrans.py
htmltrans.py takes plain text input from STDIN and dumps it to STDOUT with HTML tags added mainly based on indentation. The easiest way to see how it works is comparing a sample input and compare with the corresponding output.
lesar.py
Finds messages given by number in mail-format folder and dumps them to stdout.
rexxparse.py
rexxparse.py is a simple implementation of a variety of template pattern matching that is used in Rexx. Much simpler and less powerful than tparsing.py by Aaron Watters, but also smaller and does not use regular expressions internally.
snakkd.tar.gz
Snakkd is a leaner alternative to IRC when you don't need multiple channels or thousands of users. The «protocol» uses pure text (no telnet stuff). A minimal, non-forking, portable chat-server in other words. Includes separate module with framework for non-forking socket multiplexing and another for making a process run as a daemon.
subjectfilter.py
A filter to remove unwanted strings from the Subject: header of incoming mail,
like [listname], multiple Re:'s and so on. To be used with procmail.

urlget.py
Fetches data given by URLs and dumps it to stdout.

Kolbjørn Barmen kolla@nvg.org

deflist.py
Make HTML definition lists based on files and readmes.
Takes directories as arguments and only include files for which there exist an according readme file. Files are listed as definition terms, with hypertext link, the content of the readme is listed as definition declaration.

An example on output is the file listing on this very page you read right now :)

Various, not by us

readline-2.0.tar.gz
The GNU Readline library. Nice to have when compiling Python if your system does not already include this.
ssfe.c
