Welcome to Linux/mac68k!
The goal of this project is to port Linux to the 68k-based Macintoshes (not Power Macs) and to
support as much hardware as possible. There are currently ports of the 2.2 and 2.4 kernels.
We are working on the 2.6 kernel. Just about every Mac with a 68030 or better processor is
usable in some form under Linux/mac68k, although we continue to work on improving support for some
machines. Older 68000-based Macs are not supported. For more information on which machines will
work, see the machine status page.
If you're new to Linux/mac68k, see the documentation section
to get started installing Linux on your machine.
We need developers! If you're interested in lending a hand, send email to the mailing list to get started. Programming and
kernel experience is nice, but not necessary.
