9. Problems and solutions

The system does not boot after the pre-installation.

It seems that your IDE-hardware does not work together with the new SCSI-device. You will have to disable it.

Start your Amiga without Startup-Sequence by using the boot menu that you can access by clicking both left and right mouse buttons after resetting your Amiga. Rename the file "SYS:Devs/AmigaOS ROM Update" using a shell command like this:

rename "SYS:DEVS/AmigaOS ROM Update" "SYS:Storage"

or add

"SKIPROMMODULES scsi.device"

to the SetPatch line in your Startup-Sequence to disable the IDE scsi.device update.

My system still does not boot.

Even with extensive betatesting it can happen that our testers missed one of the thousands software and hardware combinations.

Please start without Startup-Sequence again and remove all patches and other software that may collide with AmigaOS 3.5 from your system.

The Workbench does not display NewIcons or GlowIcons.

Please open the the Workbench preferences program. If the option "No NewIcons" is selected, NewIcons will not be shown. If the option "No color icons" is selected, GlowIcons will not be shown. Deselect these options if you want to show NewIcons and GlowIcons.
